: BladesIIB is a custom knife shop created by Bud Beets. The Roman Numeral II is for second generation knife maker since his Dad (Marty Beets) also made custom knives. A desire to make unique folders led to the creation of a new lock design, the Triple”B”S or Bud Beets Ball Slide, which was patented in 2021. The Cholla debuted at Blade Show 2022 using this new locking mechanism.
The harpoon shape blade is hand ground CPM-154 stainless steel with a high polish on the flats and and a medium polish belt finish in the grinds. This powdered metallurgical steel has a particularly small grain structure, making it take an extremely keen edge and hold it, while remaining tough and chip resistant. A hollow grind creates an easy to maintain cutting edge. The spine is fileworked for a positive thumb purchase.
Thick bead blasted 6AL4V titanium scales are set on barrel spacers. The unique Triple”B”S locking mechanism uses spring loaded lockbars to create an ambidextrous lock. The deep carry titanium pocket clip is mounted for right-side, tip-up carry.
