: Knives coming from W.D. Pease have a class all of their own. His fit and finish and designs are exceptional. His knives can easily hold their own against some of the best makers found anywhere! This exquisite Chute Knife has been in a private collection since it was made in 2007. It has been meticulously cared for and is in new condition. By all appearances, it could have been made yesterday.
The hand ground blade is ATS-34 with a meticulous hand rubbed satin finish. ATS-34 stainless steel is high in carbon and chromium giving excellent chip resistant, edge holding, and corrosion resistance. The top edge is fully sharpened. WD’s touchmark is on the left side of the blade.
Handle scales are mammoth ivory, secured to a distal tapered full tang using mosaic decorative pins. The ancient ivory bark retains its natural texturing which provides excellent grip. The scales are fit perfectly to satin finished stainless steel bolsters. A leather lanyard is included at the rear for extra retention in hand.
To keep the knife close at hand, a leather custom sheath accompanies the knife. It is tooled and dyed to resemble snakeskin.
