: Roger Bergh’s work is in a class of its own. His control over damascus and his skill at combining exotic materials set him apart as an artist. This stunning Swedish hunting knife combines an elegant damascus blade with a combination of beautiful materials that will have you staring at it for hours. This elegant hunter was in a private collection and is in brand new condition. By all appearances, Roger could have made it yesterday!
The multi-bar damascus blade combines two separate twist pattern bars, set around a nickel bar. The blade features a boot grind with a false edge traveling along the spine. Roger’s touchmark is on the ricasso.
The stacked handle features a central column of extremely rare woolly rhino leg bone. The woolly rhinoceros is an extinct species of rhinoceros that inhabited northern Eurasia during the Pleistocene epoch. They went extinct approximately 14,000 years ago. The ancient bone shows beautiful aging colors from being buried in permafrost for thousands of years. The central column is surrounded by a large Arizona ironwood spacer and a ancient mammoth ivory end cap. Silver spacers set between will help the natural materials adjust to humidity and temperature changes. The bolster is sculpted from reindeer antler, finishing the handle. This knife could easily be at the center of any serious knife collection!
To keep the knife close at hand, a Swedish style single seam leather custom sheath is included.
