: Bladesmith Cary Thomas is from the mountains of North Idaho. Saw steel is recycled from the local wood mills and reborn into high performance knives.. Blades are forged, shaped, reground and heat treated. Handles are fitted, and a custom leather sheath is made by hand. This knife was kept in a private collection since it was made. It is in brand new condition and by all appearances Cary could have made it yesterday!
The 4-1/3 inch blade is crafted from a 1/8 inch thick circular saw recovered from a defunct Idaho wood mill. The blade was reground, oil heat treated, and acid etched for a dramatic appearance. The blade is convex ground for a durable, chip resistant edge. A deep choil provides increased control when choking up on the blade.
Handle scales are stabilized and dyed tiger maple set on a full tang. Black fiber liners will help the natural wood adjust to humidity and temperature changes. A lanyard can be added for extra retention using the copper lined lanyard tube. The handle is finished with a polished copper guard.
To keep the knife close at hand, a hand stitched and tooled leather custom sheath is included.
