: Trevor Burger is a second-generation knifemaker following in the steps of his father, Fred Burger. He has an eye for detail. His knives have exceptionally smooth action and clean, no-nonsense designs. This custom EXK CFL is a compact folder with a streamlined design that may make you really appreciate the details.
The EXK was originally developed by Trevor’s father, Fred Burger in conjunction with Mike Skellern, and continues to be one of the most popular folders that he makes. The blade runs on in-house made caged ball bearings and has silky-smooth action. It is easily opened single-handed using the front flipper tab. This mechanism is designed to be flicked out with the thumb. The blade is perfectly centered.
The blade is premium ELMAX stainless steel, created by Bohler in Austria. At 60 Hrc, ELMAX provides the extreme edge retention, high strength, and toughness a hard-use knife demands. High wear resistance in a steel usually means low corrosion resistance, but not with ELMAX. With this advanced steel, you get both properties, which makes it an excellent steel for daily carry folders. The blade is hollow ground for an easy to maintain edge.
The handle is darkened textured Grade 5 titanium and features a handsome bead blast finish. Skeletonized pockets reduce the weight of this full size knife to only 3 ounces. Trevor’s maker mark (TBC) is engraved into the backbar. The backbar, pivot collar, and pocket clip are all matching Timascus. The pocket clip is mounted for right-side, tip-up carry.
