: Mastersmith Steve Koster has been making knives for almost 50 years. He has won numerous awards through the years for his handmade, one-of-a-kind knives. Steve grew up in Sandpoint, Idaho where he spent most of his time fishing, hunting, camping, trapping, and climbing. He began knifemaking in the early 70’s and started forging knives in 1986. He joined the American Bladesmith Society in 1999 and passed his journeyman test in 2003. Koster was awarded his mastersmith rating on April 11th, 2021.
The clip point blade is feather pattern damascus, forged to shape from 1080 and 15n20 carbon steels. The high contrast pattern is exceptional and draws you in for further inspection. The spine is nicely rounded for comfort when choking up on the blade for detail work. Steve’s touchmark is on the left side of the blade and his M.S. mark is on the right side.
The premium sambar stag handle has plenty of natural texture to provide excellent grip. Stainless steel spacers surround the antler. The guard, spacer, and butt cap is made from matching ladder pattern damascus. The handle fills your hand and provides a comfortable, slip-resistant grip.
To keep the knife close at hand, a brown leather custom sheath with rattlesnake leather inlay is included.
