: Maxime Belzunce is an artisan cutler from Istres in the Bouches-du-Rhône region of Southwestern France. He forges his own damascus, but focuses mainly on making high performance folding knives. Maxime’s knifemaking skills are very well known in Europe and is just now breaking into the US market. We were very pleased to meet him at BladeShow 2023 and be able to offer a range of his exceptional work.
The blade is perfectly centered and has silky-smooth, drop shut action thanks to the ball bearing pivot. The blade can be deployed with one hand using the ambidextrous front flipper tab. This style of flipper tab will not get caught on things in the pocket.
The drop point blade is hand ground RWL-34 stainless steel with a meticulous hand rubbed satin finish. RWL-34 is a premium powder metallurgy cutlery steel manufactured by Damasteel in Söderfors, Sweden. Because it is manufactured from rapidly solidified powders, the microstructure of the steel is much more uniform. This gives the steel much higher strength and durability while maintaining very high wear resistance.
Handle scales are marble carbon fiber set set on bead blasted titanium liners. White Timascus bolsters meet with the carbon fiber scales in an elegant curve. The liners surround a matching Timascus backbar. The 3D machined titanium damascus pocket clip is mounted for right-side, tip-up carry.
A custom leather and felted wool pocket pouch is included to store the knife safely.
