: Journeyman Smith Bruce Barnett is a Western Australian knifemaker living in the hills of Perth. Bruce is one of the fine Australian makers who is drawing the attention of the knifemaking world to the wealth of knifemaking talent in his country. Bruce has worked alongside some of the most prominent knifemakers in the world including Mastersmith Bill Burke. Bruce’s attention to detail and fine design aesthetic is clearly apparent in this elegant and high performing slipjoint folder.
The clip point blade is CPM-154 stainless steel with a hand rubbed satin finish. This powdered metallurgical steel has a particularly small grain structure, making it take an extremely keen edge and hold it while remaining tough and chip resistant.
The blade is perfectly centered and has smooth, consistent action with a firm half stop. It can be easily opened using the nail nick.
Handle scales are jet black ebony, secured to fileworked liners using hand domed pins. Ebony is highly durable and prized for its unique jet black appearance. The scales are perfectly fit to satin finished front and rear bolsters. The bolsters are integral to the liners for superior build strength.
