: Renowned South African knifemaker Andre Thorburn had been telling me about his friend Helgard for the past several months. For the past year or so, Andre had been showing Mostert many of his tricks. I was very excited to see his work in person and I wasn’t disappointed.
The drop point blade is hand ground N690 stainless steel. Bohler N690 ensures a keen, long lasting edge with good resistance to chipping. It is a great choice for high performance knives. The blade is hollow ground for an easy to maintain edge. It is perfectly centered. Ceramic bearings ensure it has silky-smooth, drop shut action. The inobtrusive front flipper is tremendously easy to use.
Handle scales are Lava Flow FatCarbon, set on anodized titanium liners. Titanium bolsters are engraved by Ida Mostert. The engraving is beautifully done. A black G-10 backspacer keeps the knife light, yet strong. This 3D machined titanium pocket clip is mounted for right-side, tip-up carry.
