Luis hand forged this exceptional carving knife. Whether carving a turkey or deboning meats and fish, this one-of-a-kind masterpiece is a perfect choice!
Pina began forging this integral carving knife beginning with 1080 and 15N20 carbon steels. The fine patterned laddered damascus is immediately captivating and draws attention for closer examination. Because this knife is forged from carbon steels, we recommend camellia oil to avoid rust and oxidation. By forging closely to shape, he ensures optimal grain structure for a keen, long lasting edge. The blade is beautifully thin for clean, perfect cuts.
The bolster is fully integral to the blade, with the damascus pattern moving seamlessly from bolster to blade. This technique has superior structural integrity and requires a particularly talented smith.
The ambidextrous octagonal handle is inspired by traditional Japanese knives. The stabilized mesquite wood handle is separated from the integral bolster with a black canvas Micarta spacer. Like other knives, this knife should not be put in the dishwasher.
