: Willem Steenkamp was accepted as a member of the Knifemakers’ Guild of Southern Africa (KGSA) in May of 2007. His attention to detail is clearly evident in his knives. His fit and finish rivals that of the best makers found anywhere.
The blade is perfectly centered with smooth action and a firm half stop. It is easily opened using the right handed thumb nick.
The 2.8 inch drop point blade is hand ground M390 stainless steel. M390 is a super-steel created by Bohler in Austria. It takes an incredibly sharp edge and holds onto it due to a high concentration of vanadium and chromium carbides. Its unique powder metallurgical process also promotes a uniform carbide distribution and clean steel properties, making M390 a popular steel used in surgical cutting instruments and in applications requiring a high finish. It offers excellent corrosion resistance due to its high concentration of chromium. The blade is hollow ground for an easy to maintain edge.
The satin finished titanium frame features red carbon fiber inlays on both sides of the knife. A matching carbon fiber pivot ring is flawlessly inlaid around the custom pivot. The inside of the frame is jewel polished. At just 2.2 oz, this slim profiled knife is very easy to keep close by.
