: Stuart Kerr is a knifemaker and razor maker from Queensland, Australia. When he wanted a straight razor made and couldn’t find one for an affordable price, he decided to make one. Over the years, he became the go-to guy for straight razors in Australia. Though he makes beautiful, clean, classic looking razors, he is possibly best known for his carved, whimsical ones. Stuart is not afraid to push the boundaries of what is possible and has many ‘one-off’ custom designs. He continues to want his work to stand out and perform, always looking for new and different material for his handles and expanding his range of steels he works with.
This exquisite straight razor was custom built by Stuart. The ladder pattern damascus blade is forged from 15N20 and 1084 carbon steels. The resulting blade is both dramatic and exceptionally high performing. Because this razor is forged from carbon steels, we recommend camellia oil to protect it from oxidation. The straight edge culminates in a custom point. The half hollow blade is 7/8. Knurling along the spine provides a secure finger purchase.
The dramatic handle is paper Micarta, laser engraved with floral scroll. A carbon fiber spacer brings in nice contrast.
Exceptional work throughout! Though this razor could be at home in most any collection, it will be a joy to use.
