: South African knifemaker Nico Pelzer is best known for creating exceptionally detailed, finely tuned folders. Here, he brought the full skill that he has developed from his work on folders to a sole authorship, highly sculpted fixed blade. This knife has been in a single private collection. It has been meticulously cared for and is in new condition. By all appearances it could have been made yesterday.
The blade and bolsters are formed from Nico’s own mosaic damascus using carbon steels. By heat bluing the bolsters, Pelzer nicely highlights the complex mosaic damascus pattern.
The bolsters and scales sit on a full tang and have both been elegantly terraced. The presentation grade mammoth ivory shows off warm caramel tones.
