: Mastersmith Daniel Winkler created the Winkler II line in 2010. It is an alternate approach to an established tradition. Winkler Knives II is the result of processes Daniel Winkler developed over the past few years in order to provide axes and knives to teams within United States Army Special Operations and US Naval Special Warfare. Each piece in this collection bears the Winkler Knives II touchmark.
The SD2 (Standard Duty 2) is the perfect everyday carry fixed blade for hard use situations. The blade measures 3-1/2″ with an overall length of 7″. This makes the knife easily concealable and legal to carry in most areas with blade length restrictions (check your local knife laws).
The blade is formed from 80CrV2 carbon steel — a steel that takes and holds an incredibly keen edge. A Caswell finish is both non-reflective and provides limited rust resistance. A full distal tapered spine and tang means great balance. Jimping along the spine offers an easy thumb purchase.

A durable tan Micarta handle is set on the full tang and secured using two pins. The sculpted handle provides a particularly good non-slip grip. The scales have been gently rounded to fill the hand nicely.
This knife includes a felt lined black kydex sheath with a belt clip attachment.
