: Riaan Manser is a full-time knife maker from South Africa. Manser works under the brand name 3LegDog — named for his pit bull cross dog which lost its hind leg when still a puppy. Manser and his dog spent many days and nights sitting along side each other in the knifemaking studio. Regretfully, his beloved dog passed away during the summer of 2018.
This W5 Flipper features a hand ground MagnaCut stainless steel blade, with a Rockwell hardness of 63. CPM-MagnaCut is a new premium stainless steel created by Crucible with the help of professional metallurgist Dr. Larrin Thomas. Magnacut combines the high toughness of CPM-4V with the corrosion resistance of CPM-20CV. This creates a perfect blade steel for knives that need high toughness and great edge retention while still being easy to maintain. The hand satin finished blade features raised clip and a high flat grind.
Handle scales are black G-10 and with Sunset Orange CamoCarbon on both sides. Bead blasted Gr6 titanium liners keep this knife light yet strong. The backspacer is black G10. Raised polished collars surround the bead blasted pivot. The handle is completed with a bead blasted titanium pocket clip mounted for right-side, tip-up carry.
