: Daniel Winkler became a fulltime knifemaker in 1988 and received accreditation as an American Bladesmith Society master bladesmith in 1993. He has spent more than three decades studying and perfecting the nuances and handmade knives. This tool was crafted in the Winkler Knives shop in Northwestern North Carolina by skilled Blue Ridge Mountain artisans. It was created to provide unfailing performance and to last a lifetime. ABS Master Bladesmith Daniel Winkler introduced the Woodsman at the 2017 Blade Show. It is a tremendous, high performing EDC utility. The blade is formed from 3/16″ 80CrV2 carbon steel with a non-glare Caswell black oxide finish. A full tang ensures strength and durability. The tang extends past the end of the walnut handle, allowing it to be used as an effective glass breaker. Daniel moved the thumb rest a little higher on the blade for close-in carving work. Tribal markings both provide visual interest and a sure grip. Two lanyard holes allow the easy addition of a paracord lanyard for extra retention in hand.
The versatile Boltaron lined leather sheath includes DCC MonoBlock clip by Discreet Carry Concepts that can be worn vertically or horizontally for right- or left-hand draw with simple adjustments.
